If you’re anything like me then you’ll love sound – the problem is, many audio systems don’t give out premium quality sound because they miss the bass. That’s why having a premium 15 inch subwoofer is all-important especially if you want to enjoy the rich, depth of low tones and listen to music that really booms. It’s amazing what you can miss out on without hearing these tone – basic audio systems just don’t cut it and if you’re a DJ you know the value of a decent subwoofer.
So if you’re contemplating buying your first ever 15 inch subwoofer or if you’re looking for a new one make sure you have the right size, the larger the subwoofer, technically the better the sound. You’ll find my top three greatest 15” subwoofers an invaluable piece of information and for ease, they’re all available to purchase on Amazon.com.

Relatively inexpensive it’s made out of aluminium with spider venting so keeps the motor cooler than other versions. Easy to fit, this comes with a FlexFit basket which is great for extreme installations (you can make adjustments to the speaker when mounted) and contrary to what you might think. The Rockford Fosgate P3D2- 15 inch subwoofer isn’t too heavy.
If you’re looking for something loud and proud with a ton of output this is a great subwoofer – it really belts out sound enhancing big bass while looking good at the same time. Here are the features that come with this piece of equipment:
- Anodized aluminium cone (this keeps the subwoofer cool)

- Diamond cut cast aluminium trim (optional grille)

- Protective PVC magnet cover
- Easy grip soft touch rubber over-mold

Lanzar MAXP154D Max Pro 15 Inch Subwoofer
For a budget subwoofer, this 15 inch subwoofer from Lanzar gives a clean-cut, loud and sharp audio experience. Quality performance and easy installation makes this a great choice for your in-car audio system and will multiply your sound giving you plenty of depth and really rich music without distortion. I recommend this for great audio and it’s a small, neat looking subwoofer producing sound using two 2.5” dual layer high temperature Kapton voice coils.
Great in a 15 inch square sealed box, this pushes 2000 watts maximum power and all of this in one piece of equipment. Additional features include:
- Stamped steel basket with hex screw input terminal
- Bumped and vented motor structure
- Rubber magnet boot
- Specially treated foam edge suspension
- 2000 watt maximum power
- Does not come in a pair – you need to buy two if you want to double up on sound
This subwoofer really shakes your vehicle especially when you turn the volume up loud; it gives superior audio and an excellent, deep bass. However, one word of caution, before you turn it right up give it time to adjust, this speaker will only blow if you don’t allow it to break in properly before driving up the volume.

With innovative spider spacing technology, this 15 inch subwoofer should last for years.
The bass is rated at 1200 watts and 600 watts RMS and the spectacular square shape is ideal for a smaller car – in fact, Hilfonics call it “More Bass in Less Space” so if your vehicle is on the small side this one is for you. Here are some more of the Hilfonics features:
- DVC 4-Ohm, 2.5” high-temp voice coils complete with a rubber surround
- Spider with integrated tinsel leads
- Polypropylene cone for better audio quality
- Nickel-plated push
- Insert speaker terminals
- Double-stack magnet assembly
- Heat-dispersing ported nickel-plated backplate
- Ultra-ridged stamped steel basket
- High strength ABS motor cover
One word of warning, this subwoofer doesn’t come with mounting screws and if you want a pair, you need to buy two. The bottom line is, for the price of this subwoofer (approx. $70 depending on where you buy it from) you get distinctive, strong depth of bass and it’s loud! What more could you want?
